NPP Central Regional Chairman Robert Kutin Jnr to Be Laid to Rest This Weekend at Assin Jakai

Assin Jakai, Central Region – The final funeral rites of the late Robert Kutin Jnr, former Central Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), will be held this weekend at Assin Jakai, his hometown, following months of national mourning and tributes from across Ghana’s political landscape.


Mr. Kutin Jnr, who passed away on December 22, 2024, after a prolonged illness, served as the Central Regional Chairman of the NPP for three consecutive terms. His tenure is widely credited with strengthening the party’s grassroots structures and playing a pivotal role in its electoral successes, particularly in the 2016 general elections.


Funeral Arrangements

The funeral rites are scheduled for Saturday, May 31, 2025, and will begin with a Requiem Mass at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Assin Jakai, at 6:00 AM. This will be followed by the final funeral gathering at the Assin Jakai Catholic School Park after burial, where party faithful, dignitaries, and mourners from across the country are expected to gather to pay their last respects.


Tributes from Across the Nation

The passing of Chairman Kutin Jnr has drawn tributes from high-ranking officials, party members, and constituents. Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, in a statement, described him as “a dedicated and selfless party stalwart who contributed immensely to the NPP’s growth and development.”


The former president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, NPP National Chairman Stephen Ayesu Ntim, and other party executives are expected to attend the funeral, along with regional and constituency officers, government appointees, and Members of Parliament, especially those from the Central Region.

Beyond politics, Mr. Kutin Jnr was known for his philanthropy and commitment to youth empowerment within the region. He left behind a legacy of loyalty to the NPP, discipline in leadership, and strategic foresight that many credit for transforming the party’s fortunes in the Central Region.
